I'm so overjoyed to know that I have a vultus classicus . (It worries little old ladies.) But it's not on tap here. I've always enjoyed wearing kilts and since I could have a clan affiliation if I wanted one, I might go for stockings in my tartan.
Yes, Vanessa, The-Boy-Who-Occasionally-Wears-A-Kilt (that is, T.) also thought I was unduly amused by the idea of stockings for men and threatened to show me his own kilt hose if I was going to find them so amusing.
We agreed, however, that the houndstooth pattern on the right was a definite 'no', and I'd just like to say (in response to the description given) that any man I marry will just have to learn to knit his own kilt hose.

What's wrong with stockings for men?
Also, Patrick, is there really any other classic face of his to imitate?

McDonnell of Glengarry, in case you're wondering.

Am I the only one thinking that matching the kilt and the stocking in the same pattern seems like a fashion don't?
If you get the kilt hose in your tartan, what would you wear with them? The only thing I can think of is a subdued solid . . .

I'm betting I could use them like any pair of argule socks.
